On Sunday, March 16, 2025, the KPMG Lentemarathon will take place in Amstelveen. This means that throughout the day, various roads and cycling paths will be temporarily closed or have limited access. Road users are advised to expect delays and, if possible, choose an alternative route.
Traffic Controllers & Safety
To ensure the safety of both participants and road users, traffic controllers will be deployed at all major intersections, cycling paths, and entry/exit points of neighborhoods along the marathon route. Their role is to facilitate the safe passage of runners, while ensuring that emergency and first-response services always have priority access.
Road Closures on March 16
Several roads will be fully or partially closed for an extended period on Sunday, March 16, including:
🚧 Amsterdamseweg (between Burgemeester A. Colijnweg and Oude/Nieuwe Karselaan) – Closed from South to North between 05:00 – 16:00. Shops and restaurants, such as Albert Heijn van der Linden, remain accessible.
🚧 Oude and Nieuwe Karselaan & Spoorlaan – Closed between 08:30 – 15:00. Limited entry and exit possible with a resident pass.
🚧 Molenweg connection to Amsterdamseweg – Residents can still enter and exit via Molenweg.
🚧 Oude Dorp – Alternative entry and exit routes are available for residents.
🚧 Rembrandtweg, Pieter Lastmanweg & Galerij – Closed between 07:00 – 17:00. Residents can enter and exit via the cycling path along Rembrandtweg with a resident pass.
🚧 Galjoen (between Jupiter and Lichtboei) – Closed in one direction between 10:00 – 13:00.
🚧 Amsteldijk Zuid, Kazernepad & Nesserlaan – Closed between 09:00 – 15:00. Only residents of the Ringdijk are allowed through.
🚧 Various neighborhood streets, such as Graaf Aelbrechtlaan, Parklaan, Vijverlaan & Patrimoniumlaan, will have temporary closures as runners pass through.
Temporary Closures at Intersections
Several intersections along the race route will be closed for short periods (1 to 2 minutes per passage). Key affected crossings include:

🔹 Keizer Karelweg – Graaf Aelbrechtlaan
🔹 Amsterdamseweg – Nieuwe Karselaan
🔹 Amsterdamseweg – Parklaan
🔹 Van Heuven Goedhartlaan – Handelsweg
Accessibility & Alternative Routes
🚨 Emergency services will always have priority.
🚌 Connexxion buses will follow an adjusted route.
🚲 Cyclists will experience restrictions on several bike paths, especially in Amsterdamse Bos and along Amsterdamseweg.
